Stewart Music Emporium (SME) is a space for all musical and media needs. From band rehearsals to artist development/management, SME is dedicated to providing a safe space for creation. As a musical hub in the south side community, SME seeks to help provide educational, language development, social and emotional skills while nurturing and uplifting local talents. With a state-of-the art music studio and multifunctional spaces to harness and inspire creation, SME is dedicated to helping the voices of today, tomorrow and the future.
OUR VISION
Chicago and the Chicagoland area have been identified as the second largest city in the United States that produces the most entertainment. Chicago is also known for developing worldwide musical talents and SME plans to become a staple in the community to continue this practice on the south side of Chicago.
In conjunction with the Regal Mile Studios that is located to the east and the State of Illinois Designated “Mahalia Jackson Cultural District” on the west, SME wants to make it easier and accessible for individuals, artists, and others to develop and learn a craft that will last a lifetime. SME plans to enhance this community and others, by providing these resources to underserved and under-resourced communities.

SME’s mission is geared to specialize in all types of music and other art forms that require artists to develop a full knowledge of music history, theory, production, and performance. SME understands that music and other art forms have been the foundation for revitalizing social movements through education and to provide an escape for people to obtain healing experiences. Some of this has been lost in the music industry and SME plans to re-ignite the love of music and entertainment that will impact future generations.
